Σχετικά με την εκδήλωση

Guitarist Babis Papadopoulos, known as a member of band Trypes, as well as his later artistic presence, both through solo works and collaborations, has already made his mark in the Greek music community.

In his concerts, titled Electric Solo, Babis presents a programme of his own instrumental compositions, pieces from his entire musical career, and prominent improvisational elements.

For this musical journey, with his guitar, effects, and loops on his side, he crosses from lyricism to modernism and the world of musical impressions, creating intense imagery, moods, and emotions. He fully develops all these elements that make his sound so unique, recognisable, and beloved.

Tuxedomoon:No tears documentary is probably the most complete and documented film that was ever dedicated to this cult no wave wandering band named Tuxedomoon. It contains extremely rare archives and long interviews of the three core members of the band – Steven Brown, Blaine Reininger and Peter Principle – commenting on the past with an eye on what they are doing today in a globalized world some aspects of which they already escaped in 1981, when they moved from the United States to Europe.

Film director Nicholas Triandafyllidis (Screamin Jay Hawkins: I Put A Spell on Me), is a dedicated follower of the band since his early teens. He has worked with Blaine L. Reininger in all of his fiction films (Tuxedomoon allowed the director to use Ghost Sonata for his debut short film Dogs Licking my Heart, Reininger wrote the original soundtrack for Radio Moscow and Overcoat and he appeared as a lead actor in all of his films-including the bizarre Black Milk as a magician from outer space). Triandafyllidis also was the executive producer for Reininger’s solo LP The More I Learn, The Less I Know and was the promoter for all the Greek gigs of Reininger and Tuxedomoon. The story goes on as recently the band appeared at the film director’s venue Gagarin 205 in Athens during their long awaited come back tour.
